Our client in the global business sector is seeking to recruit a Finance Policies and Procedures. The incumbent will report to the Group Head of Public Reporting and Technical Finance.
The role of the finance policies and procedures accountant is to assist the finance department in streamlining financial procedures and requirements which arise from International Financial Reporting Standards requirements (as set out in the Group finance manual) or which arise out of operational requirements which have an upstream effect on reported numbers (for example the process of calculating deferred revenue).
The individual will work closely with the accounting technical and projects manager to document current procedures, and contribute to the design and implementation of new procedures; performing training, user acceptance testing, and supporting subsidiaries with legacy and new systems where required.
Responsibilities:
REPORTING READINESS AND PROCEDURES:
- Track subsidiary alignment with established reporting procedures.
- Support ad-hoc projects for the development, communication, and implementation of group accounting and reporting procedures and systems.
- Be involved in the development and roll-out of reporting tools, including data validation and user acceptance testing.
- Support local finance teams with the use of new and legacy systems.
REPORTING QUALITY:
- Track performance of review and quality control procedures in respect of reporting and system output.
- Support local finance teams in delivering better quality information using existing systems.
- Work with group accounting technical and projects manager to understand limitations and help deliver solutions.
Profile:
- ACA, ACCA, or CIMA.
- 1-3 years job experience in a finance team or in audit is preferred, but not strictly necessary. The job will have a lot of learning opportunity.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Tools.
