We are seeking a highly experienced and hands-on Finance Manager who will be responsible for leading the finance team, managing day-to-day accounting. The ideal candidate must be ACCA qualified with a minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in finance.

 

1. Team Management & Leadership

  • Lead, supervise, and develop a finance team comprising accountants, junior finance officers, and accounts staff.
  • Assign clear responsibilities across the finance team (accounts payable, receivable, general ledger, bank reconciliation, etc.).
  • Conduct weekly team meetings to review progress, resolve bottlenecks, and align on financial goals.
  • Monitor team KPIs, ensure accountability, and manage team performance through regular appraisals and feedback.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture that encourages learning and growth.
  • Identify training gaps and organize relevant workshops or mentoring to elevate team capability.
  • Ensure the team adheres to internal controls, deadlines, and reporting standards.
  • Support HR in recruitment and onboarding of new finance team members when needed.

2. Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Develop and implement robust financial planning models to support business objetc.ives.
  • Prepare detailed forecasting reports covering revenue, cash flow, capital expenditures, and profitability.
  • Deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to senior management with actionable insights.
  • Track financial KPIs and analyze performance against budget and forecasts.

3. Accounting and Financial Reporting

  • Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements.
  • Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes across the finance team.
  • Supervise all general ledger activities, ensuring financial accuracy and completeness.
  • Review and approve bank reconciliations –
  • Manage and verify VAT reconciliation monthly, ensuring accurate classification of goods/services.
  • Monitor payroll, vendor payments, receivables, and journal entries processed by team members.

4. Budgeting & Cost Control

  • Lead the annual budgeting process, coordinating inputs from relevant departments.
  • Monitor departmental budgets, flagging and explaining any variances.
  • Conduct cost-benefit analysis, implement cost control measures, and ensure overall budget discipline.
  • Report and analyze budget vs actual performance to identify trends and optimization areas.

5. Product & Operational Costing

  • Establish and maintain accurate costing systems, especially for production and inventory costing.
  • Analyze cost behavior and recommend strategies to reduce overheads and increase margins.
  • Ensure standard costs are up to date and reflect actual operations.
  • Collaborate with operations and procurement to manage costing accuracy.

6. Cash Flow & Treasury Management

  • Supervise team efforts in maintaining daily cash flow reports and managing liquidity.
  • Conduct cash flow forecasting to ensure the company meets all obligations.
  • Manage bank relationships and negotiate terms for loans, credit lines, and foreign transactions.
  • Oversee overseas payments, ensuring exchange rate monitoring, documentation, and compliance.

7. Compliance & Internal Controls

  • Ensure compliance with local tax laws, regulatory standards, and internal company policies.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring timely preparation and addressing of findings.
  • Design, document, and enforce internal controls to safeguard financial assets and processes.

8. Strategic Financial Support

  • Act as a key advisor to senior management on financial implications of business strategies.
  • Provide analytical support for new investments, expansions etc.
  • Participate in strategy development sessions and provide input on business model optimization.

9. Risk Management

  • Identify and assess financial risks, both operational and strategic.
  • Implement risk mitigation policies and procedures.
  • Ensure the company has adequate insurance coverage and risk transfer strategies.

10. Inventory & Raw Material Reconciliation

  • Oversee and ensure accurate reconciliation of raw materials, working closely with production and procurement.
  • Investigate inventory variances, usage inefficiencies, and recommend process improvements.
  • Develop standard procedures for inventory tracking, reporting, and reconciliation.
