The Enterprise Architect is responsible for developing and maintaining the bank’s enterprise architecture framework to ensure seamless integration of systems and alignment with business objectives. The role focuses on creating a unified blueprint across business, data, application, and technology domains while supporting strategic goals and regulatory compliance. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

 
Architecture Framework Development
  • Develop and maintain the enterprise architecture framework, ensuring alignment with business goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Define and document architecture principles, standards, and best practices.
  • Create blueprints for integrating new and existing technologies across the organization.
Domain-Specific Architecture
  • Develop and manage specific architectural domains [e.g., business, application, data, or technology].
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure domain architectures meet business and operational needs.
  • Ensure architectural consistency and interoperability across domains.
Solution Alignment
  • Work closely with project teams to ensure solutions align with the enterprise architecture framework.
  • Provide architectural oversight during the design and implementation phases of projects.
  • Identify gaps between current and future state architectures and recommend solutions.
Governance & Compliance
  • Ensure adherence to architectural governance frameworks and processes.
  • Conduct regular architecture reviews to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Mitigate risks by identifying potential vulnerabilities in architectural designs.
Technology Evaluation & Innovation
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend their adoption to enhance operational efficiency and innovation.
  • Participate in proof-of-concept activities to assess the feasibility of new technologies.
Documentation & Communication
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation for all architectural decisions, frameworks, and blueprints.
  • Communicate architecture updates and strategies effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
 
KEY SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field 
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in similar roles, preferably within the banking or financial services sector 
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing enterprise architecture frameworks in banking or financial services.
  • Expertise in managing complex IT projects and cross-functional teams. 
  • Experience with COBIT, ITIL, Agile, and project management methodologies such as PMP or PRINCE2 would be an advantage 
  • Strong understanding of architecture & banking frameworks [e.g., TOGAF, BIAN etc].
  • Proficiency in core banking systems, cloud technologies [AWS, Azure etc], APIs, and microservices.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity, data governance, and regulatory compliance standards. 
  • Experience in managing IT risks, compliance, and ensuring alignment with banking regulations 
  • Demonstrated leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels 
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to influence stakeholders and foster collaboration.
  • Leadership skills to manage and inspire a high-performing team. 

PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS: 
  • Certifications in Enterprise Architecture [e.g., TOGAF or equivalent] would be an advantage.
