We are looking for an experienced Design and Technology Technician to join our team. The Design and Technology Technician will support staff and students in the preparation of resources, ordering materials, maintenance of equipment and in class support.
Technical Support
To assist staff in the demonstration and application of machinery use to students.
To be proficient in the use of the range of CAM equipment and provide technical support during lesson time.
To be proficient in a range of CAD software and provide technical support during lesson time.
To prepare materials and equipment for practical lessons.
Maintenance
To maintain and monitor consumables and equipment in Design and Technology to ensure all students are able to access wide range of materials and processes as part of their Design Technology provision.
To maintain machinery and equipment in accordance with health and safety requirements including CAD, CAM.
Professional Requirements
Understand professional responsibilities and operate within school policies.
Maintain subject expertise and uphold high standards of conduct.
Work collaboratively with staff and contribute to school activities, meetings and events.
Engage with parents and the learning community while pursuing personal professional development.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
A Diploma or higher in a relevant in Design Technology.
Courses in Wood Trades NC Level 3 and/or Industrial Machine Maintenance NC3
Minimum of 2–5 years of experience in secondary section.
Experience in using ICT to enhance teaching and learning.
