ROLE PURPOSE
The purpose of this role is to ensure the proper collection of products and delivery to clients around the island.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Product Delivery:
- Safely transport products to customer locations in a timely, safe, and courteous manner.
- Adhere to assigned routes and follow time schedules for deliveries.
- Load and unload products from the vehicle, ensuring that items are secured during transit.
Vehicle Maintenance:
- Perform basic vehicle maintenance checks, including fuel, oil, water, and tire checks, to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition.
- Report any vehicle maintenance needs or issues to the supervisor.
- Ensure the cleanliness and proper functioning of the delivery vehicle at all times.
Customer Service:
- Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner upon delivery.
- Handle customer queries or complaints regarding deliveries and report them to the relevant department.
- Collect payments or signatures from clients when necessary.
Safety Compliance:
- Comply with all traffic laws and regulations while driving.
- Follow safety procedures for vehicle operation and product handling.
- Report any accidents or vehicle damage immediately to management.
Record Keeping:
- Accurately complete logs and reports, including delivery notes, mileage, and fuel receipts.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries and customer authorizations/signatures.
Inventory Management:
- Assist in loading and unloading goods, ensuring accurate delivery of orders.
- Check and confirm inventory against delivery documents before and after delivery.
QUALIFICATIONS
- HSC
- Valid manual driving licence
EXPERIENCE
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role.
TECHNICAL & BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES
- Ability to drive safely and efficiently in various weather and traffic conditions.
- Good driving record with no traffic violations.
- Knowledge of area roads and neighborhoods.
- Physical ability to load and unload goods, including lifting and carrying items.
