Our client in the agricultural sector is seeking to recruit a Compliance & Sustainability Officer to join our team and drive our sustainability initiatives forward.
Reporting to the Head of Compliance, the successful candidate will ensure our organization retains certification across various sustainability schemes, actively liaises with stakeholders, and provides expert advice on sustainability matters.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and monitor sustainability strategies and policies.
- Conduct sustainability assessments and audits to identify areas for improvement.
- Promote awareness and engagement in sustainability initiatives across the organization.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to advance sustainability goals and certifications.
- Prepare and present sustainability reports and performance metrics to management.
- Stay updated on the latest sustainability trends, regulations, and best practices.
- Assist the quality team in ensuring quality assurance and product compliance along the supply chain.
- Respond to customer queries on quality, food safety, and sustainability issues.
Profile:
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Sustainability, Chemical Engineering, Agriculture, or a related field.
- Experience in quality and sustainability management, certification processes, or a related field, preferably within the agricultural or sugar cane industry, is an advantage.
- Strong understanding of sustainability principles, practices, and regulations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
