Exchange Lounge, situated on Ground Floor, 7 Exchange Square, Wall Street, Ebene, is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Commis Chef to join our kitchen team.
Exchange Lounge is an upscale lounge restaurant and bar designed to provide an intimate, relaxed environment where guests can enjoy expertly crafted cocktails, premium spirits, and a curated selection of light bites.
As a Commis Chef, you will assist in the preparation and cooking of food, ensuring that the kitchen runs efficiently and that dishes are prepared to the highest standards. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their culinary skills and grow within the kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist Chef de Partie in the preparation and cooking of food, following recipes and portion controls.
- Ensure that food is prepared and presented according to the standards set by the Head Chef and Chef de Partie.
- Assist with mise en place (preparing ingredients) and stock organization.
- Help maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, including proper storage and labeling of ingredients.
- Ensure all hygienic and safety regulations, including food standards, are followed.
- Work with senior kitchen staff to learn and develop new skills and techniques.
- Assist with cleaning kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces during and after service.
- Support the kitchen team in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the kitchen.
- Help with the preparation of sauces, stocks, and garnishes, under the direction of senior chefs.
- Take responsibility for your section and contribute to maintaining a positive, professional environment in the kitchen.
- Maintenance and cleanliness in the kitchen.
Qualifications:
- 0-2 years of experience in a professional kitchen is a plus.
- diploma or equivalent qualification is preferred but not mandatory.
- Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment, food safety, and hygiene standards.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Culinary Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn.
- A passion for food and culinary arts.
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Basic culinary qualification or on the job training.
- Experience in catering is essential.
