Chief News Editor

Radio One is seeking a dedicated and experienced Chief News Editor to take charge of editorial operations and drive the production of high-quality, impactful journalism. If you're passionate about news and leadership,this role is for you!

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the design, production, and editorial quality of news publications.
• Lead editorial meetings and debriefing sessions to ensure cohesive content strategies.
• Manage schedules for journalists, reporters, and trainees, ensuring efficient workflow.
• Assign topics, prioritize event coverage, and ensure timely delivery of reports and recordings.
• Uphold journalistic standards, ethical guidelines, and editorial consistency.
• Verify and prepare scripts, ensuring factual accuracy and in-depth analysis.
• Deliver exclusive, high-quality news content and uphold the organization’s vision.
• Provide mentorship and training to journalists and trainees to enhance skills.
• Participate in general news coverage, interviews, and news presentations.

Qualifications

• A degree in Journalism, Communication Media, Mass Communication, English, French, or a related field.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with strong interpersonal abilities.
• Proactive and up-to-date with the latest industry trends.
• Proven ability to manage deadlines effectively in a dynamic environment.
