Job Duties:
- Plan daily production in terms of quantity and quality of items to be prepared according to standards and procedures;
- Ensure that subordinates have all necessary commodities required for production;
- Starts, monitors and complete cooking operations, in line with standards in term of hygiene, quality, quantity, timing and costs;
- Ensure that service operations are carried out as per standards and up to guests’ satisfaction;
- Maintains and complies with hygienic standards and practices within the Kitchen areas;
- Handles, and ensures the handling of, materials and equipment properly so as to avoid breakages, wastage and accidents
Candidate Profile:
- School Certificate or equivalent;
- A NC Level 4 in Kitchen operations from Mauritius Institute of Training and Development or equivalent;
- At least 3 years’ experience in the Hotel Industry in the F&B – Kitchen section;
- Good communication and organisational skills;
- Should possess a pleasant and outgoing personality;
- Be able to demonstrate good leadership skills and strong willingness to improve upon work performance and result to be achieve;
- Positive mental attitude and desire to learn to enhance performance;
- Be health and safety conscious and conversant with HACCP requirements to ensure compliance thereof at work;
- Able and willing to perform odd hours of work including Sundays, public holidays and cyclonic days;
- Able to work mainly night shift
- Fluent in written and spoken English and French.
