Exchange Lounge, situated on Ground Floor, 7 Exchange Square, Wall Street, Ebene, Mauritius, is seeking a talented and energetic Bartender to join its team.
As a Bartender, you will be responsible for crafting and serving drinks, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining the bar area. You will interact with guests, recommend beverages, and ensure a high level of satisfaction throughout their experience. Your ability to multitask, work in a fast-paced environment, and maintain a positive attitude will be key to your success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet guests in a friendly and professional manner and take drink orders.
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with company recipes and standards.
- Provide recommendations to guests based on their preferences and suggest drink pairings.
- Ensure that the bar area is clean, organized, and fully stocked with supplies, including liquor, garnishes, glassware, and tools.
- Check identification to verify legal drinking age and comply with all alcohol laws and regulations.
- Process customer payments, including cash, credit cards, and tabs, and provide accurate change or receipts.
- Handle customer complaints and concerns in a calm and professional manner.
- Monitor guest consumption and ensure responsible alcohol service.
- Maintain knowledge of current trends in the beverage industry and stay updated on new drink recipes.
- Assist with bar setup, breakdown, and cleaning tasks, including washing glassware and sanitizing surfaces.
- Ensure that all equipment, such as blenders, shakers, and refrigerators, is maintained in good working order.
- Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper sanitation and food handling practices.
- Work collaboratively with other staff members to ensure efficient service and a positive guest experience.
Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of experience as a bartender or in a similar customer-facing role (preferred but not required).
- Knowledge of drink recipes, bartending tools, and cocktail preparation techniques.
- Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to engage and connect with guests.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and a positive attitude.
- Must be able to handle cash and process transactions accurately.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Bartending certification/course is a plus.
- Experience in catering is essential.
