Under the guidance and supervision of the Bar manager, and within the limits of established, policies, over-sees and directs all aspects of the restaurant service and parts of the operation.

 

  • We expect that every guest in the bar is being granted full attention, reception and best possible care.
  • That, with his friendly and courteous attitude, he supports and maintains the good reputation of the hotel.
  • That he is thoroughly informed on all promotions, novelties and changes in the sales-program.
  • That he knows perfectly well all drinks and Cocktails
  • That he maintains a good communication between Bar and Kitchen.
  • That he builds a disciplined especially in view of:

-       Strict following of the general service requirements and basic service rules attached to this job description which can be enlarge at any time by the management without any level movement.

-       Strict following of closing and opening check lists in absence of the Bar Manager attached to this job description      

-       Strict following of cleaning check lists attached to this job description.

-       Strict Shift handover checklist

-       Strict following of the Beverage Presentation List

-       Strict following of the standardized cocktails and measurements.

-       Human and professional development of his subordinates.

  • That the rules stated in the “service staff duty manual” are executed in his outlet.

Performs special duties as assigned by F&B manager and assistants

 

  • That the Barman has permanently a clean appearance (including complete uniform, tag, polished shoes, perfect grooming, decent make up for waitress, dressed hair etc..), and gives the impression of a well trained organized and disciplined team.
  • Participates in decoration and preparing the bar for promotions and special events.
  • Ensure a proper, correct order taking to speed-up service and that guests getting a right order on his dishes.
  • Actively participate in order taking, sales efforts
  • Handle all complains by calling immediately the Bar-Restaurant Manager, Ass. F&B Manager
  • Ensures a team spirit and working discipline.
  • Make sure that all rules and regulations according to guidelines are in use.

TRAINING

  • Trains his subordinates on the 10 min Training on a daily basis.
  • Trains his subordinates on cocktail recepies.
  • Trains his subordinates on the general requirements.
  • Trains his subordinates on all check lists.

MATERIAL, INTERNAL ACCOUNTING SYSTEM INVENTORY

  • Ensures a careful handling of all bar material .
  • Control all restaurant material and eliminates chipped, broken or cracked dishes.
  • Help with the end-of-month or end-of-year inventory in his area of responsibility.

FURNITURE, EQUIPMENTS AND MACHINES

  • Keep all bar furnishing clean and polished in accordance with the cleaning schedule.
  • All damaged furniture and machines are repaired with a maintenance request.
  • Controls and reports all defective lighting, fixtures and other electrical matters.
  • Is familiarized with all emergency procedures and assure that all of his employees are          informed of the pertinent emergency procedures.

 QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

Education:

Minimum School Certificate or equivalent

Very good command of English and French

Experience:

2 years experience in restaurant service

Strong in discipline, cost conscious, very good administrative skills, human relation

skills, salesmanship and leadership during rush periods able to lift and carry 20-50 kg.
