We are seeking a seasoned Automotive Dealership - General Manager that will be based in Malawi full time to oversee and propel our client’s business operations in this thriving market.

 

Are you an experienced professional with a solid background in the automotive retail sector? We are seeking a seasoned Automotive Dealership General Manager that will be based in Malawi full time to oversee and propel our client’s business operations in this thriving market.


Qualifications required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Automotive Engineering, or a related field
  • MBA or advanced degree preferred


Skills and Experience required:

  • Proven track record (10+ years) in senior roles within the Automotive Retail industry, such as General Manager or Dealer Principal
  • Extensive international or emerging market experience, particularly in Africa
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, capable of motivating diverse teams
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
  • In-depth knowledge of automotive market dynamics, including regulatory landscapes, customer preferences, and competition
  • Ability to thrive in an expatriate environment
  • Proficiency in financial management, including profit/loss analysis

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee all facets of automotive retail operations in Malawi, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives
  • Develop and execute strategic initiatives to drive revenue growth, expand market presence, and improve operational efficiency in Malawi
  • Cultivate and maintain robust relationships with stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and partners
  • Direct sales, marketing, and service teams, providing leadership, guidance, and support to achieve high performance
  • Analyse market trends, competitive dynamics, and customer insights to identify and pursue new business opportunities
  • Ensure adherence to local regulations, company policies, and industry standards
  • Prepare and present regular performance reports, financial forecasts, and strategic recommendations to senior management
