The Associate Director of the Accounting Shared Services team will oversee the day-to-day planning, execution, and deliverables of client accounting requirements across multiple jurisdictions within the group. This role ensures high-quality, timely deliverables that comply with statutory and regulatory standards. Responsibilities include managing the Shared Services team, driving training and development initiatives, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and aligning team proficiency and performance with the organization’s goals.
Qualifications required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field; ACCA or equivalent certification preferred.
- At least 7-10 years of experience in an accounting-related leadership role.
Skills and experience required:
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and compliance standards.
- Proven track record of managing and developing high-performing accounting teams.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.

Kay Responsibilities:
Client Accounting Management
- Oversee the delivery of comprehensive accounting services to clients, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Review and prepare financial statements for various entity types in accordance with IFRS Accounting Standards.
- Liaise with auditors, address audit queries, and ensure audits align with agreed plans.
- Collaborate with other functions to meet client deadlines and milestones.
- Manage daily accounting activities, including general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and audit support.
- Handle tax inquiries, coordinate with tax advisors/clients/intermediaries, and follow up on related actions.
- Ensure all financial records and statements adhere to organizational and legal standards.
Planning and Coordination
- Develop and implement planning strategies for the accounting shared services team to meet team and business objectives.
- Coordinate with departments and stakeholders to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
- Establish and maintain a robust internal control environment, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions.
- Plan team workflows to ensure reporting deadlines are met for relevant jurisdictions.
Team Leadership and Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and create individual development plans.
- Facilitate training sessions and workshops to keep the team updated on accounting practices, tools, and compliance requirements.
Compliance and Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and financial reporting standards.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks associated with accounting operations.
- Liaise with external auditors and regulatory authorities, addressing audit findings promptly.
- Collaborate with tax and regulatory reporting teams to meet deadlines with accurate accounting information.
Process Improvement
- Drive initiatives to enhance the efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness of accounting processes.
- Leverage advanced accounting software and tools to automate tasks and improve productivity.
- Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements to maintain a competitive edge.
Stakeholder Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring their satisfaction with services provided.
- Collaborate with key team contacts across jurisdictions to ensure smooth service delivery.
- Provide accurate and timely management information on accounting service delivery.
- Work with the team to reduce service delivery costs through process improvements, training, and technology.
- Act as a key point of contact for accounting-related inquiries and issues, ensuring prompt resolution.
