Our client, a Global Fund Management and Administration company has an opportunity for an Associate Director of the Accounting Shared Services team

The purpose of this role is to manage the daily planning, execution, and delivery of client accounting services across multiple jurisdictions within the group. The focus will be on ensuring high-quality, timely deliverables that comply with statutory and regulatory requirements. In addition, the role will involve overseeing the Shared Services team, driving training and development initiatives, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement. The aim is to ensure the team’s skills and performance align with the organization’s objectives.

Qualifications required:

  • Partially or fully qualified ACCA
  • Complete finance degree

Skills and experience required:

  • Minimum of 7 years experience in the global funds sector
  • Experience at a leadership level in an Accounting team
  • Proven track record managing a successful team
  • Experience working on funds for private clients would be beneficial
  • Experience in a foreign management company would be ideal as the successful candidate will be managing client portfolios in the European region.

Job description:

  • Report to  Director
  • Responsible for managing a team of 7 people.

Client Accounting Management

  • Oversee the delivery of accurate, timely accounting services, ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Review and prepare financial statements in accordance with IFRS for various entities.
  • Liaise with auditors, manage audit queries, and ensure adherence to audit plans.
  • Coordinate with teams to meet client deadlines and milestones, ensuring timely deliverables.
  • Manage daily accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, financial reporting, and audit support.
  • Address tax inquiries and schedule meetings with advisors, clients, and intermediaries.
  • Ensure financial records align with legal and organizational standards.

Planning and Coordination

  • Develop and implement planning for the accounting team to meet business objectives.
  • Coordinate with departments to streamline processes and improve accounting efficiency.
  • Maintain internal controls, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions.
  • Ensure timely planning to meet jurisdiction-specific reporting deadlines.

Team Leadership and Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
  • Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and create development plans to nurture talent.
  • Facilitate training to keep the team updated on accounting practices, tools, and compliance.

Compliance and Risk Management

  • Ensure all accounting activities comply with relevant legal, regulatory, and reporting standards.
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks, implementing appropriate risk management strategies.
  • Liaise with auditors and regulatory authorities, addressing audit findings promptly.
  • Work with tax and regulatory teams to ensure timely accounting data for reporting.

Process Improvement

  • Drive initiatives to improve the efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness of accounting processes.
  • Leverage accounting software to automate tasks and enhance productivity.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements.

Stakeholder Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring satisfaction with accounting services.
  • Collaborate with key contacts in each jurisdiction to ensure smooth service delivery.
  • Provide accurate, timely management reports on accounting service performance.
  • Work with the team to reduce service delivery costs through process improvements and technology.
  • Act as the main point of contact for accounting-related inquiries and issues, ensuring prompt resolution.
