Assistant Payroll Administrator Ideally, we are looking for someone with a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a good attitude, who is willing to learn/ quick learner. Knowledge in accounting and fluency in both English and French (French would be an advantage) are also important.

 

Assistant Payroll Administrator

 

Location: Ebene, Mauritius

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Ensure the operational aspects of payroll processing and associated activities, including salary disbursement, leave management and reporting are accurate and delivered within appropriate timeframes and comply with relevant legislation
  • Prepare payroll and assist with checking, quality control and maintenance of records to ensure accuracy, service quality and data integrity
  • Assist the organisation to meet its taxation, superannuation and other legislative and statutory obligations through processing and preparation of returns, related reports, forms and other documentation as requested
  • Provide a responsive, accurate client advisory service on payroll matters, resolve difficult enquiries and assist in identifying payroll errors and implementing corrective action where required to ensure employee payments are processed accurately and database integrity is maintained
  • Contribute to process improvement by participating in a range of payroll and service delivery reform activities
  • Gather timesheet and check integrity data in conjunction with the site administrator and project management
  • Ensure pay subs are recorded accurately
  • Assist with Audit process
  • Posting of payroll journals on accounting system
  • Adherence to the Group Accounting Guidelines and Policies
  • Analysis of results and reporting to Financial Controller on the findings and suggestions
  • Liaise with financial institutions as and when required
  • Complete the month end task checklist to ensure the provision of the monthly management report for the Financial Controller within strict deadlines
  • Update employee information on Insurance portal
  • Other duties as required

 

 

Requirements

 

  • Higher School Certificate and ACCA level 1
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in payroll
  • At least two years’ experience as Assistant Accountant
  • Experience in an international environment would be a definite advantage
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to interact with diverse cultures
  • Good written and verbal communication skills (English & French)
  • Previous experience with PRAXIMA system- preferred
  • Intermediate Microsoft suite skills
  • Good team player
  • Strong eye for detail and sound numeracy skills
  • Good time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
