- Implement and monitor standard operating procedures for housekeeping tasks.
- Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and staff areas to ensure quality and adherence to established standards.
Training & Quality
- Assist in training new housekeeping staff on procedures, standards, and safety protocols.
- Develop and execute comprehensive training programs for new housekeeping staff, covering cleaning procedures, safety protocols, and customer service expectations.
- Conduct regular refresher training sessions for existing staff to keep them updated on new procedures, techniques, and standards.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and adjust content and delivery methods as needed to improve performance.
- Mentor and support staff in their professional development, providing constructive feedback and guidance.
- Implement rigorous quality control measures to ensure that all areas of the property meet or exceed cleanliness and presentation standards.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces to identify and address any deviations from established standards.
- Develop and maintain quality assurance checklists and procedures, ensuring they are up-to-date and reflect best practices.
- Address and resolve quality issues promptly, coordinating with staff to implement corrective actions and prevent recurrence.
- Utilize guest feedback and inspection results to drive continuous improvement in housekeeping practices.
Financial
- Assist in preparing and managing the housekeeping department’s budget, including labor costs, supplies, and equipment.
- Monitor budget performance and make recommendations for adjustments to ensure financial targets are met.
- Track and analyze departmental expenditures, identifying areas for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Implement cost-control measures to minimize waste and ensure optimal use of resources.
- Assist in managing the inventory levels of cleaning supplies, linen, and other housekeeping materials.
People Management
- Assist in scheduling and managing housekeeping staff to ensure optimal coverage and efficiency.
- Supervise and support housekeeping staff in their daily tasks, providing guidance and addressing any issues that arise.
- Recognize and reward high-performing staff members to encourage a positive and motivated work environment.
- Supervise and direct housekeeping staff, including room attendants and housemen, providing guidance and support as needed.
