Our client is seeking to recruit an Assistant Accountant who will report to the Chief Executive Officer / General Manager. The incumbent will support the finance team by assisting with financial reporting, analysis, and day-to-day accounting tasks.

 

This role is ideal for someone who is currently pursuing professional accounting qualifications and seeks to gain practical experience in a dynamic finance environment. 
Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Support the preparation of management reports, including variance analysis and financial summaries.
  • Contribute to the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
  • Record and reconcile financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable.
  • Assist in maintaining the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data.
  • Prepare and post journal entries for accruals, prepayments, and other adjustments.
  • Assist in managing accounts receivable, including invoicing and credit control.
  • Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure accurate cash flow management.
  • Investigate and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Assist with internal and external audits by preparing required documentation and reports.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and internal controls.
  • Identify opportunities for improving accounting processes and implementing best practices.
  • Support the finance team with ad-hoc projects and tasks as required.
Profile:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field or ACCA Partly Qualified
  • At least 5 years of experience in an accounting or finance role is preferred
  • Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Xero) and MS Office, particularly Excel.
