The assistant accountant assists the management accountants for financial reporting of Mubex and ABI Shared Services Africa.
Key roles and responsibilities
• Assist in preparation of monthly, quarterly, yearly financial reports in a timely, complete and accurate manner. • Assist the Management Accountants in the provision of high quality financial information to the Management team to support them in their decision making. • Maintain the Fixed Asset register and monthly Capex reporting. • Assist in the preparation of manual report templates to submit to the Zone in a timely, complete and accurate manner. • Assist in the preparation of monthly cost-centre reports, including ZBB reporting • Perform daily Bank reconciliation; perform monthly and quarterly MICS controls; and record all MICS evidences. • Assist in preparation of annual budget and monthly latest estimates • Ensure that our financial and accounting policies are compliant with relevant local authority keeping abreast of changes in financial regulations and legislation. • Assist in preparation of monthly and yearly statutory returns • Assist management in any ad hoc reports and other administrative tasks
Profile Qualifications and Experience
•Relevant 3 year tertiary degree / diploma •ACCA/ ACA partly qualified would be considered an asset. •2 – 3 years work experience including hands -on exposure to accounts receivable/payable •Business and financial acumen •Strong IFRS knowledge •Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word and knowledge of Syspro Behavioural Competencies •High levels of integrity, honesty and confidentiality •Highly flexible in terms of working hours and public holiday work •Strong self -management qualities •Good analytical and problem solving ability •Attention to detail •Ability to work under pressure •Good team player •Good verbal ability and communication skills
