The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting our accounting department by performing a range of accounting and administrative duties, helping us drive business growth and ensuring the smooth processing of transactions.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive support to the Finance Manager in daily accounting functions.
  • Update and manage the divisional daily cash flow schedule to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports and process accounting entries in Sage Pastel Partner, strictly adhering to month-end deadlines.
  • Month End Responsibilities include distributing divisional rates, reviewing cash books, posting revenue-related entries, reconciling intercompany ledgers, conducting aged debtor analysis, reconciling prepayment accounts, and posting provision entries; all in accordance with IFRS.
  • Assist in onboarding commodity trading clients, focusing on compliance with Mauritian Law.
  • Conduct ongoing compliance assessments for clients to ensure regulatory adherence.
  • Maintain up-to-date client KYC information and ensure records are complete.
  • Handle client and revenue-related activities within the divisional shipping system.
  • Process IB payments, invoices, and quotations promptly as required.
  • Liaise with our management company to address queries effectively.
  • Assist in the preparation of year-end financial reports, disclosures, and declarations.
  • Support audit processes by addressing internal and external audit queries and resolving discrepancies.
  • Undertake any other ad-hoc accounting and administrative tasks as assigned by the Finance Manager, Divisional CFO, or Company Directors.

Who We Are Looking For

  • Qualifications: ACCA Level 2 minimum or a university degree with ongoing ACCA qualification.
  • Compliance Expertise: Proven experience with AML/CFT compliance procedures and a solid understanding of relevant regulations.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of accounting and/or client management experience.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office and experience with Sage Pastel Partner/Evolution is advantageous.
  • Languages: Strong communication skills in both French and English (written and spoken).
  • Organizational Skills: Excellent planning, organization, and multitasking abilities.
  • Team Player: Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Attributes: Proactive attitude, results-driven, analytical, diplomatic, and an attentive listener.
