Responsible for maintaining financial records, running reports and recording a wide range of transactions. Purpose includes providing administrative assistance to accountant as well as preparing statements that confirm the accuracy of database information.
- Provide accounting and clerical support to the accounting department
- Prepare and maintain accounting documents and records in a timely and accurate manner
- Prepare statements, including credit notes
- Reconcile accounts in a timely manner
- Daily enter key data of financial transactions in database
- Research, track and restore accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies
- Inform management and compile reports/summaries on activity areas
- Function in accordance with established standards, procedures and applicable laws
- Constantly update job knowledge.
- Collect and sort invoices
- Keep a thorough record of business transactions and enter data from daily work logs into the company’s general ledger system
- Support supervisory and executive staff by performing any assigned accounting and clerical tasks
- Keep a thorough record of all company charges, as well as any refunds that have been issued
- Keep track of any consumer issues that require a refund and make sure that the refunds are issued in a timely manner
- Assist senior accounting personnel with any tasks conducted within the accounting department, or any tasks that require accounting personnel to take part
- Key in any documents or items that the accounting department is responsible for, including cheques and invoices, as well as vouchers, accounting statements, and other reports and records
- Match orders to invoices
- Process invoices/bills so that they can be paid
- Contact consumers to notify them of delinquent accounts and accept any payments made at the time of contact.
- Attend to inventories at various work sites as and when required.
- Count cash
- Ensure proper filing
