Network Architect - TX & Datacom

Responsible for planning, design, implementation, operations and maintenance of Transmission, Fixed Access and Datacom network of Emtel network infrastructure to ensure successful operations of the department.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide technical support to commercial broadband Unit as and when required
• Provide analytical and technical solutions with regards to Data Networks and Solutions
• Coordinate with supplier for quick responses to escalated customer problems
• Ensure the expansion of Transmission, Fixed and Datacom network through the implementation of the projects
• Oversee the rollout of Enterprise fixed access services by designing, planning and validating solutions as per requirements
• Responsible for installing, maintaining and supporting customer equipment and networks
• Ensure all transmission, Fixed and Datacom network databases, inventories and log reports are constantly updated and accurate
• Assist in the Outsourcing of Services, Request for Quotation (RFQ) /Bill of Quantities (BOQ) & other peripherals for transmission, Fixed and IP network
• Assist Radio Access Network, FM & Roll out and Planning teams
• Responsible for monitoring Spares for the transmission, Fixed and Datacom Unit
• Maintain and improve backup solutions, information security and disaster recovery plans to ensure Business Continuity in case of contingencies
• To carry out departmental activities while giving due attention on minimizing downtime for Mobile and Fixed Network

 Required Qualifications and Experience:

• Minimum degree in telecommunication or any related field of studies
• At least three (3) years of experience
• Technical certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, JNCIS will be advantageous

• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and French
• Excellent problem solving skills
• Positive attitude and good team spirit
• Excellent knowledge of Transmission, Fixed Access and Datacom networks
