As a trusted advisor, the HR Manager plays a key role in supporting management to achieve business goals aligned with the corporate vision. In addition to supporting leaders and teams through the implementation of organizational changes, the Mauritius HR Manager will work closely with Senior HR Business Partners supporting global functions and HR specialists to implement HR programs. 

What does your typical day look like? 

  • Plan, develop and manage all HR-related matters locally: HR policies, workforce planning, talent acquisition and performance management, employee and leadership development, employee relations, employee engagement and total compensation
  • Ensure all administrative and transactional work associated with supporting the business is completed in a timely fashion
  • Manage day-to-day talent acquisition activities, including resource plan updates, job descriptions, advertising, interviews, references, onboarding, etc.
  • Provide guidance and coaching to leaders on HR-related matters (e.g., legal/procedural compliance, workforce planning, talent and performance management, succession planning, employee engagement and compensation). This applies for leaders on site and in other locations with supervision responsibilities in Mauritius 
  • Implement HR-related projects in line with corporate priorities in collaboration with the HR Centers of Expertise when appropriate 
  • Play advocacy to represent local needs and cultural aspects. 

What skills and experience are we looking for?             

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or equivalent 
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in human resources 
  • Experience in a global organization and the knowledge of HR systems are considered assets
  • Bilingual English & French oral and written are mandatory 
  • Exceptional communication skills, writing skills, interpersonal skills, and ethical mindset
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Collaborative and professional team player 
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations with tact, diplomacy, and high ethical standards
  • Ability to maintain information in confidence and exercise good judgment
  • Proficient use of MS office suite 
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment.
