We are looking for an Assistant Accountant to join our Finance team at our Head Office based in Mapou.
Overview of the role:
Assist the Accountant - Financial Reporting in achieving accurate and timely accounting information, sound financial controls and financial processes improvements.
Main Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the preparation of quarterly and year-end consolidated financial statements, including Cognos validation, formatting for Management, banks, and shareholders, and creation of supporting audit schedules and footnote disclosures.
- Assist in the consolidation of quarterly forecasts, annual provision for goods and services, monthly VAT supplies and returns for Rogers Hospitality Operations Ltd, ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Manage inter-company transactions and reconciliations across reporting packs (monthly, quarterly, annually), ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Support analytical reviews of financials (monthly, quarterly, yearly) for submission to Management and Rogers & Co, and respond to statutory bodies’ reporting and analysis requests.
- Review and interpret financial reporting standards and regulations (including IFRS), ensuring accurate application across reporting processes.
- Collaborate with finance teams across business units to align accounting policies and procedures, fostering consistency and accuracy in reporting.
- Identify and implement process improvements within the consolidation process to drive efficiency and accuracy.
- Maintain and update Power BI templates monthly, including P&L expenses and staff costs, to support reporting and decision-making.
- Contribute to strategic projects, including expansion initiatives, inventory reviews, onboarding new teams, and promoting Rogers Hospitality culture and sustainability practices.
- Provide ad hoc support to the Finance Team, including assisting accountants and ensuring financial awareness among Executive and Management Teams.
Candidate Profile:
- Diploma in Accounting/Finance from a recognized institution and/or ACCA qualified/partly qualified up to level 2 is preferred
- Proven experience in financial consolidation and reporting, ideally within a group structure
- Previous experience in the hospitality sector will be a plus
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and regulatory compliance
- Proficiency in financial systems (e.g., Cognos, Power BI) and Excel
- Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills
