Our client, a company headquarted in Mauritius, is seeking a IT Administrator

Accountabilities         

Systems Management: Oversee daily performance and maintenance of ERP (Sage), SharePoint, Teams, and Office 365.

Manage user accounts, permissions, and backups.

Perform regular updates, troubleshoot issues, and optimize system performance.

Network Administration:

Maintain secure and stable network operations, including routers, firewalls, and VPN. Monitor network performance and resolve connectivity issues for local and remote users.

Cybersecurity:

Implement and monitor security protocols (firewalls, endpoint protection, etc.).

Manage user access controls and perform system audits.

Conduct employee cybersecurity awareness training.

Hardware and Infrastructure Support:

Install, maintain, and troubleshoot laptops, desktops, and other IT equipment. O

versee IT inventory and manage onboarding/offboarding processes.

Coordinate hardware procurement and maintenance.

Helpdesk Support:

Provide first and second-level support for IT issues (onsite and remote). Manage and prioritize support tickets and document issue resolutions.

System Improvement and Optimization:

Identify opportunities for system upgrades and process improvements.

Collaborate with leadership to recommend and implement IT solutions.

Education, qualifications and knowledge

Education:     

Academic degree preferred

Professional qualifications:    

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)

Must have skills:

System Management and Troubleshooting

•           Proficiency in managing ERP systems (preferably Sage), SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, and Office 365.

•           Ability to perform system updates, backups, user management, and performance optimizations.

•           Strong troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve software and hardware issues efficiently.

 

Network Administration

•           Solid understanding of network configurations (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and network security.

•           Experience with firewalls, routers, switches, and VPN setup for secure remote access.

Cybersecurity

•           Experience implementing and monitoring security protocols (firewalls, antivirus, endpoint protection).

•           Ability to perform user access control, conduct security audits, and manage security incidents.

•           Familiarity with phishing detection, vulnerability assessments, and security awareness training.

 

Hardware and Infrastructure Support

•           Experience with setup, configuration, and troubleshooting of laptops, desktops, printers, and mobile devices.

•           Knowledge of IT inventory management, procurement, and hardware maintenance.

 

Communication and Collaboration

•           Excellent communication skills to support and train non-technical users.

•           Ability to work cross-functionally with various departments and escalate issues when necessary. 

Proactivity and Time Management

•           Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple requests, and work independently.

•           Proactive in identifying system improvement opportunities and presenting solutions.

 

Language skills:         

English: Fluency in both written and spoken English, as it is essential for communicating with international and local partners, customers, and internal teams.

Experiences & capabilities

Professional experiences       

The ideal candidate should have 3–5 years of experience managing IT systems and infrastructure, including ERP platforms (preferably Sage), Microsoft SharePoint, Teams, and Office 365.

He/She should demonstrate expertise in network administration, including configuring firewalls, VPNs, and maintaining secure and stable connections for both local and remote teams.

Experience in cybersecurity is essential, with a proven ability to implement security protocols, conduct system audits, and respond to security incidents.

The role also requires hands-on experience providing technical support for hardware and software, managing IT inventory, and ensuring smooth onboarding and offboarding processes.

The candidate should have a solid track record in helpdesk support, resolving support requests efficiently, and documenting solutions. Additionally, experience with system upgrades, process optimization, and vendor coordination is preferred to ensure IT solutions align with business needs.
