HR – Compensation and Benefits Specialist
Reporting to: HR Director
Role Summary: The HR – Compensation and Benefits Specialist is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing compensation and benefits programs across the Africa region. This role ensures that salary structures, job classifications, and payroll processes comply with local regulations while aligning with the company’s global HR strategy.
Key Responsibilities: Compensation & Job Evaluation Conduct comprehensive job analysis and evaluations to establish appropriate salary ranges, job classifications, and compensation structures.
Ensure that compensation practices remain competitive and aligned with market trends.
Administer salary adjustments, promotions, and bonus programs based on performance and industry benchmarks.
HR Systems & Payroll Management Work to manage HR data efficiently.
Collaborate with finance, legal, and HR teams to support payroll processing for local employees and expatriates, ensuring compliance with local laws.
Lead the implementation of the Payroll software, ensuring a smooth transition and optimization of payroll processes.
Performance & Benefits Administration Support the development and implementation of performance management systems, including goal setting, performance appraisals, and employee recognition programs.
Administer compensation programs such as annual merit increases and bonus payouts in line with organizational objectives.
Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to employee benefits.
Reporting & Analysis Prepare detailed reports and presentations for senior management, summarizing compensation trends, benefits data, and recommendations.
Analyze compensation structures to identify areas of improvement and provide strategic insights for decision-making.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
✅ Education: Degree in Human Resources, Finance, or a related field.
✅ Experience: Minimum 5-7 years in compensation and benefits, preferably in a multinational or regional context.
✅ Technical Skills: Strong experience with HRIS systems (e.g., MyHR, Payspace). Knowledge of payroll processing and labor laws across Africa. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis. ✅ Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work cross-functionally with HR, Finance, and Legal teams. Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
