Are you a skilled legal professional ready to make a significant impact in a dynamic and growing company? We are seeking a dedicated Legal Associate and Partnership Lead to join our team and contribute to our success across various markets.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Handle various commercial contracts and agreements with prospective and existing clients, in-country partners, and other key stakeholders.
  • Ensure the business complies with all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Promote legal, compliance, and risk management best practices throughout the company.
  • Provide accurate and timely legal advice to various business teams and functions on a variety of legal topics.
  • Work collaboratively with internal departments to identify and implement process improvements and best practices that drive legal and contractual excellence, eliminate errors, and enhance client retention.
  • Propose relevant and innovative solutions to effectively mitigate and/or resolve legal and HR challenges throughout Africa, adding value to clients, enhancing client retention, and improving client satisfaction.
  • Develop pan-African labor law knowledge to continuously improve and enhance the company’s contracts, external communications, policies, and procedures, contributing to the broader governance framework.
  • legal research and translation where required (French to English).
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with in-country partners to ensure effective collaboration and alignment with company goals.

Qualifications:

  • Legal certification and a minimum of 3 years proven experience.
  • Strong understanding of commercial contract law and labor law, particularly in the African context.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Fluency in French and English is essential.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • High level of diligence, responsibility, and professionalism.
