Welder

Assembles and install valves, pipe fittings and pipes composed of metals for example iron, steel brass and lead. Fills pipes system with water or air and reads pressure gauges to determine whether system is leaking.

To perform all duties and tasks when rotated or assigned to another Department as per Master Task List for that Department.

To undertake any reasonable tasks and secondary duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager.

To ensure that the Place of Work and surrounding area is kept clean and organized at all times.

To monitor operating supplies and reduce spoilage and wastage

To understand and strictly adhere to the Rules & Regulations established of the Hotel  and the Hotel’s policy on Fire, Hygiene, Health and Safety

To take part in any training offered by the Hotel so as to update your skills.

Install, repair and maintain plumbing system and component.

Identify required tools and special equipments.

Select the type and size of pipe required.

Locate and mark positions for connection of fixtures.

Install supports and hangers for pipes, fixtures and equipment.

Assemble and install valves and fittings.

Install, repair and maintain water treatment equipment, piping.

Install, repair and maintain underground water piping system.

Should be able to perform all type of welding arc ,mig , oxy acetylene

Install repair and maintain plumbing fixtures and appliances.

Test pipes systems and fixtures for leaks.

Ensure all installations, repairs and maintenance meet environmental protection.

Ability to work cooperatively with other subordinates.

Effective verbal, presentation and listening communication skills.

Be ready to work odd hours or long  hours in case of emergency.

Studies building plans and working drawings to determine work aids required and sequence of installation.

Locates and marks position of pipes and pipe connection and passage hole for pipes in walls and floors.

Cuts openings in wall and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings, using hand tool and power tools.

Cuts and threads pipe, using pipe cutters, cutting torch and pipe threading machine.

Bend pipe to required angle by using a pipe bending machine or placing pipe over block or bending it by hand.

Able to join pipes by the use of screws, bolts, fitting, solder, plastic solvent and caulk joints.

Fills pipes system with water or air and reads pressure gauges to determine whether system is leaking.

Follow the instruction of the supervisors.

Capable of using and maintaining the tools of the trade

Deals with electrodes in general use and prepares all materials for welding;

Carries out all forms of welding in mild steel and structural steel, and uses oxyacetylene torch and electric arc welding for simple cutting and welding

Reads and understands any drawing or specification relating to his duties
