Our client in the insurance sector is recruiting an Underwriting Assistant 

Main duties

  • To prepare quotes and service agents & brokers from quote stage to processing of proposal and underwriting
  • To screen and monitor instructions/placing slips/proposals from Agents and Brokers as well as for direct businesses as per Company’s standards
  • To service agents & brokers in respect of their insurance needs
  • Ensure that Renewal terms are sent to clients/Agent & Brokers as per our standards and prescribed time
  • Ensure day to day mail & telephone queries from Agents/Brokers and internal handlers are handled as per SLA’s set
  • Focus on cross selling initiatives and build up relationship with agents & brokers
  • To maintain & grow renewal business of IBU
  • Any other cognate duties which may arise aligned to business requirements.

 Qualifications/Experience:

  • Holder of a Higher School Certificate
  • Have at least 2 years experience in the insurance field more specifically the underwriting with excellent customer relationship skills
  • Should ideally be studying the CII
  • Be fully computer literate
  • Experience in the personal line insurance would be a definite advantage
  • Have good interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written)
  • Be proactive, dynamic and result-oriented with a good eye for details
  • Be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Be a team player
