Leal Communications and Informatics is actually looking for a senior IT Technician on a temporary basis (3 months contract).

 

MAIN FUNCTION

To undertake the primary role of principal Desktop Services providing direct first line support to the user community in the resolution of desktop/application/technical issue.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Provide initial point of contact as Desktop Services support for all users requiring assistance, guidance, or experiencing difficulties in the use of desktop equipment and applications.
  • Provide user support and maintenance of peripheral devices including the maintenance and administration of an onsite spares capability for desktop scanners and printers.
  • The management, maintenance and control of the logging system.
  • Provide periodic MI to IT management under standing or ad-hoc instruction.
  • Assist in the training and/ or induction of new members of staff specifically in the use of the Desktop tool and basic helpdesk activities.
  • Work to an agreed task list, which will define on a month-by-month basis additional activities to be completed. Non helpdesk calls only.
  • Ensure that personal (and where appropriate, team) time records are accurate and complete in the relevant time recording system by the advertised deadlines for the active period. Any planned absence (which includes, holiday, sick leave for in patient services, business travel, training etc) should be recorded ahead of the activity taking place."

  • Collects and collates necessary facts, figures and opinions, using a range of sources and adds value by identifying patterns, trends and relationships in the data.

  • Improves personal effectiveness in response to changes at work by identifying new learning and self-development opportunities that arise from the change and working towards them. 

KEY SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE

Essential:

  • Excellent Team player
  • Well proven verbal communication skills including conflict management
  • Proven knowledge of MS Office products and Lotus Notes (mail & calendar)

Desirable:

  • At least 2 years in an I.T. environment
  • Previous experience in a similar role

Qualification:

  • Min HSC
  • MCP/MCSA/CCNA will be an advantage
  • Preferable:- Other IT professional certificates
