Regional Credit Controller [French Speaking]

The role is primarily intended to collect outstanding debt for a portfolio of clients on an ongoing basis, and to ensure that overdue invoices are kept to a minimum. Flag and monitor high risk accounts and work with Regional Risk Officer to create the necessary visibility to the management.

Key responsibilities:

  • Be responsible for collection of debts for a portfolio of clients.
  • Allocation of receipts in accounting system based on remittance advice. Where remittance advice not available, chase clients to obtain same.
  • Ensure AR balances in accounting system are up to date and accurate daily.
  • Provide support on Billing and Credit control as required.
  • Be responsible for the speedy resolution of client query and dispute resolution by identifying root causes for portfolio of clients.
  • SOA preparation and dispatch for clients under responsibility.
  • Prepare daily cash collections report and provide comments on cash collection.
  • Liaison with relevant teams to address client issues leading to non-payment of debts.
  • Preparation of reports as requested by Cluster CFOs, or Regional Billing and Credit Control Manager.
  • Meet KPIs for AR collection.
  • Daily dispatch of invoices to customer. (Where applicable)
  • Timeous uploading of invoices, to customer portal. (Where necessary)
Required Skills and Knowledge:
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Computer literacy with advanced Excel experience.
  • Exposure to Salesforce, Cognos and SUN system will be an advantage.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to interact with various cultures and all levels of management in a multinational environment.
Required Qualifications, Work Experience and Behaviors
  • Diploma in finance, accounting.
  • Professional certification (CA, ACCA, AGMA etc.) desirable.
  • At least 3-5 years’ experience in credit control, within a multinational and highly matrix organization.
  • Proven success in improvement in KPI’s associated with the billing and credit control function.
  • Exposure to Data mining with strong analytical capabilities.
  • French and English language skills (oral and written) an absolute must.
