Job Summary

Within the division of Cloud Technologies, we are searching for a NETWORK ENGINEER who can be an added value for our Network team and customers of SD Worx nationally and internationally.

Are you the engaged Network Engineer who can help us to improve and optimize our network to be a digital leader in this market? To service our customers, we are building a reliable and redundant network, which can handle millions of data of salary calculations securely and with high performance.

The Network team is responsible for running, designing, configuring and implementing the network infrastructure. Customer focus must be the number one mindset. The team is working in a complex multi-disciplinary infrastructure of Cisco switches and routers, Checkpoint firewalls and F5 load balancers. The network engineer will be working in an environment with a huge responsibility which requires flexibility and perseverance. Never a boring day, that is the promise. The network team is a team of closely related engineers who are always willing to take that one step extra to get the job done. Team members are always willing to back each other up. Your job is enabling, maintaining and expanding the Network infrastructure together with highly qualified colleagues.

The network team is an international Agile team working remotely.

Key Accountabilities

  • Align with the business and projects regarding demands, (service)requests and new services
  • Assess new requests based on architecture standards, policies and regulations
  • Align designs with other Teams within the Technical Engineering department
  • Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) of major incidents together with other engineers
  • Perform operational 3rd level support on incidents, solving complex network problems
  • Prepare (plan) network changes for CAB approval and deployment
  • Deploy network changes
  • Document solutions and ensure knowledge transfer within the team
  • Optimize current environment
  • Maintain and support projects

 

Expectations, Experience & Knowledge

  • 3 to 5 years of experience, with at least 3 years’ experience on corporate (multi country) network level
  • VMware basic virtualization
  • Software defined Networking (VMware NSX, AVI)
  • Load balancer (F5)
  • Firewalls (ASA, palo-alto panorama)
  • Familiar with dynamic routing protocols (BGP)
  • Azure cloud Networking (SNG, VPN, firewall, Express route)
  • Excellent incident handling and troubleshooting skills
  • Implement changes out of office hours
  • Capability to work outside of office hours, including 24/7 on call
  • Maintain documentation up to date
  • Very good English skills
  • Capability to work according given instructions and existing policies.
  • Capability to work autonomously in a remote international team
