The Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer collaborates with the Programme Manager to: Develop M&E systems. Implement self-evaluations in SOS families and families of origin. Ensure adherence to program standards and continuous development.

 

Duties:

  • Ensure that SOS Children Villages Mauritius have a robust monitoring system in place to provide relevant data for internal and external requirements and learning.
  • Establish and undertake periodic programmatic and financial reviews of the global monitoring framework by ensuring the appropriateness of monitoring tools.
  • Coordinate periodic data collection and analysis in accordance with the national monitoring plan.
  • Assist with operational research including supporting the undertaking of surveys and focus group discussions and other data collection.
  • Ensure dissemination of findings from evaluations
  • Provide technical support to programme staff and national management team to interpret the collected data and make informed decisions for improvements
  • Supports organizational planning and reviews.
  • Supports in programme/project conceptualization and development
  • Check programme related data and validate data collected through regular data quality audits in collaboration with programme staff.

Requirements:

  • Degree in the Social Sciences, Education Development Studies with a strong knowledge in statistical analysis
  • Fully computer literate. Knowledge of Microsoft Power BI, other MS Office tools and Salesforce software will be an advantage
  • Excellent writing skills with experience in report writing to local or international donors, sponsors and other stakeholders
  • Basic accounting skills and good knowledge in budget monitoring and
  • Sound understanding of child rights, child development, family and community development, rights-based programming.
  • Respect for different cultures and religions
  • A valid updated certificate of character
