Head Barista

The Lux Collective is hiring for the position of HEAD BARISTA for our outlets at TRIBECA MALL at TRIANON.

• Prepare and serve coffee and tea drinks as per the set standards and quality.
• Increase sales through making suggestions, proposing additional items and making use of suggestive selling techniques.
• Properly handle and maintain all equipment.
• Respond to orders, questions, concerns, and complaints in a polite and efficient manner.
• Accurately handle cash and credit card payments, following appropriate cash-handling procedures.
• Serve customers quickly and efficiently.
• Demonstrate a thorough understanding of all the menu offerings.
• Observe relevant health and safety standards.
• Action Food and Beverage orders as soon as possible and follow up to ensure if they are processed efficiently within standard time parameters.
• Able to train subordinates (Baristas).
• Maintain a high level of motivation to ensure quality and consistent product.
• Assist the team in the set up for other amenities, maintain coffee beans per stock.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum SC/GCE O Level or equivalent.
• National Certificates 4 or 5 in Food & Beverages (Bar operation) or alternative qualifications.
• NTC Level 3 in Hotel Management or an equivalent Certificate.

JOB EXPERIENCE

• At least 2 years working experience in a similar position in a 4 or 5 star hotel.
• At least of 5 years working experience as Barista in a well-known coffee shop.
• Experience in retail / specialty store or food establishment preferred.

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS

• High levels of integrity.

• Strong knowledge of coffee drinks is preferred.
• Hands-on experience, energetic and creative.
• Ability to learn quickly.
• Ability to build relationships.
• Experience in coffee roasting will be an advantage.
• Excellent written/verbal communications skills in English and French.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Organised and detail-oriented.
• Knowledge of the Microsoft Office package.
• Knowledge of Micros.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, during weekends and public holidays.
