As a Florist in a luxury five-star hotel, your role is essential in creating an enchanting and visually captivating atmosphere for guests.

 

As a Florist / Floral Designer, your primary responsibility is to create innovative floral décor and lead floral installations throughout the hotel. You’ll work closely with the housekeeping department, as well as other departments like Front Office and F&B Service, to cater to their floral requirements. Your expertise extends beyond arranging flowers; you’ll have a deep understanding of various floral designs, seasonal availability, and how to keep them fresh.

Florist Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Visually Appealing Arrangements:

    • Create daily flower arrangements for the hotel’s lobby, guest rooms, restaurants, spa, and other public areas.
    • Craft visually appealing centerpieces, lobby displays, and guest room bouquets.
  2. Event Expertise:

    • Provide specialized design and floral expertise for events such as weddings, engagements, and product launches.
    • Collaborate with event planners to plan and execute floral arrangements.
  3. Collaboration and Coordination:

    • Coordinate with vendors to order flowers and monitor their arrivals.
    • Maintain par stocks and requisition supplies as needed.
    • Work closely with other departments to fulfill their floral requests.
  4. Budget Management:

    • Ensure all floral designs align with the hotel’s standards and exceed guest expectations.
    • Stay within allocated budgets for both hotel requirements and guest orders.
  5. Communication and Documentation:

    • Maintain accurate records of floral orders.
    • Bill guests appropriately for their orders and post charges to the appropriate folio.
  6. Inventory and Maintenance:

    • Monitor flower vase inventory and reorder as necessary.
    • Keep floral containers, props, and floral carts organized and stocked.
    • Water and maintain in-house plants and floral decorations.
  7. Creativity and Innovation:

    • Create new floral recipes and designs.
    • Maintain a sample catalog of various floral arrangements for reference.
  8. Leadership and Crew Management:

    • Assign projects and lead crews during on-site floral production.
    • Maximize employee talents and available resources.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant experience as a florist or floral designer.
  • Knowledge of various flowers, foliage, and seasonal availability.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work within budgets and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
