Engineer – After Sales (Consumer Electronics)

The job incumbent will be required to manage the technical operations of the After Sales department whilst driving productivity and revenue generation. He/she will also be required to assist the Head of Service Centre Manager in his duties.

Job Purpose 

The job incumbent will be required to manage the technical operations of the After Sales department whilst driving productivity and revenue generation. He/she will also be required to assist the Head of Service Centre Manager in his duties. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Manage the technical operations of the After Sales department and ensure that optimum service is given to customers in collaboration with support departments.
• Ensure that all jobs are completed and closed to ensure that they generate the necessary revenue
• Be available to discuss and resolve complex technical issues with Team Leaders as and when necessary
• Act as a technical mentor / coach to the technical team
• Develop an effective customer orientated workforce through coaching, goal setting and monitoring of performance
• Manage people and deal with staff issues
• Keep abreast of key technical developments and innovations within the industry and encourage team members to do so
• Establish and maintain privileged interactions between suppliers, partners, consumer protection bodies and service department
• Identify training needs of subordinate and organize relative training to develop the technical competence of team members
• Assist in the implementation of projects
• Enforce compliance of established rules and regulations of the Service Centre amongst the staff

Profile

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electrical/Electronic) or equivalent
• 3 years’ experience
• Strong communication, leadership and organizational skills
• Able to work in a very demanding and fast paced environment
• Able to lead, motivate and manage a team of technical staff
• Able to travel overseas for short periods of time
• Detail and results oriented
