Pump Attendant for 24/7 Gas Station at Tribeca

General

Arrives at work on time according to the shift schedule.

Adheres to high standards of personal hygiene and attire, according to the dress code.

Signs the attendance register or clocks in and records the start time

Take breaks outside of peak or busy periods.

Displays a positive and enthusiastic approach to all assignments.

Clocks out or signs the attendance register at the end of the shift.

Assists with receiving of stock

Merchandises stock as needed and when cash till duties allow.

Beginning of the Shift Procedures

Takes over the shift from the previous shift cashier.

Verifies that the float is correct.

Confirms all speed points are working, with sufficient paper rolls.

Checks cleaning cloths, pens and other items needed for the shift.

Inspects the pay point and shop. Notifies the manager of problems noted, such as low stock.

Dealing with Cash and Takings

Ensures an accurate accounting of all transactions, collections and disbursements during the shift.

Rings all sales in the till and collects payment from customers.  Makes change for cash transactions.

Uses suggestive selling to maximise customer spend.

Make regular safe drops as per policy.

Cashes up at shift end and completes the cash control sheet for conciliation by the Backoffice Administrator.

Customer Service

Greets customers as they enter and exit the store and provides fast, efficient and friendly service.

Places customer purchases into plastic carrier bags as needed.

Makes sure that attendants are served quickly and minimises queues at the window.

Assists attendants serving customers where necessary.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Ensures that the store and pay point is clean at the beginning of the shift and that the cleanliness standards are maintained during the shift.

Sweeps and washes floors.

Washes all windows at least once a week or as the need arises.

Reports any faults immediately.

Ensures that the toilets are clean and correctly stocked with toilet paper, paper towels, soap, etc.

Safety & Security

Deposits cash in the drop safe periodically throughout the shift and ensure the bag/seal/tube number is correctly recorded.

Counts cash discreetly and quickly when doing safe drops.

Monitors the customers in the store at all times minimise theft.

If customer theft is suspected, calls the manager or dealer immediately

Prevents customers from entering the office, storeroom and other backup areas.

Cleans spills immediately in the absence of assistance.
