Trainee – IT Audit

The main responsibility of this job is to assist the Internal Audit team into their day-to-day functions, assist in the preparation of audit reports and statements & ensure compliance of best practices of all audit procedures and standards. This position is on contractual basis for 11 months.

 

The Trainee will provide support to the team by delivering tasks such as:

  • Conduct internal auditing work competently as assigned by the Senior members of the Internal Audit team.
  • Assist the Senior members of the Internal Audit team in achieving the Internal Audit Plan.
  • Perform audit tests, identifying audit exceptions and communicating results of tests to Senior members.
  • Document audit work-papers including process description, associated risks, root cause analysis, controls and results of test procedures.
  • Participate in meetings with auditees.
  • Ensure internal audit standards are met in carrying out the audit assignments.
  • Keep abreast of and take cognizance of current audit trends, techniques and technology, change in laws and regulations affecting the operations of the Bank.
  • Perform follow up of open audit issues.
  • Multi-tasking by being involved in more than one assignment and ensuring timely delivery of work within set targets.
  • Adhere to the requirements of IIA on integrity, objectivity, confidentiality and competency.

PREREQUISITES:

  • Candidate should have a degree in IT, Systems or Business management with specialisation in IT from a recognized institution or an equivalent qualification acceptable to the Bank.
  • Candidate should intend to pursue an IT audit qualification – for e.g. CISA.
  • Candidate should have an Internship experience preferably in the financial services sector including banking and insurance.
