Job Purpose The Team Leader - Compliance and Administration is responsible for managing a team of compliance professionals and ensuring that the company complies with regulatory and legal requirements

 

Main duties

  • Assist with the compliance responsibilities and obligations of the organization including development, performance, and maintenance
  • Provide expert advice, direction, and support to team members to ensure consistent application of policies and procedures.
  • Lead the day-to-day activities of a specialist compliance team to deliver the compliance work program.
  • Identify complex, sensitive, and emerging issues, and review and propose policy, strategy, and outcome focused recommendations to develop effective innovative and sustainable delivery solutions and to progress project deliverables.
  • Ensure that a business, its employees, and its projects comply with all relevant regulations and specifications.
  • Developing and overseeing control systems to prevent or deal with violations of legal guidelines.
  • Reviewing the work of Team Members and ensure all tasks executed are accurate and error free and always meets quality standards
  • Manage a team of compliance professionals including day to day and performance.
  • Provide training and guidance to the compliance team.
  • Prepare compliance reports and presentations for management.
  • Use professional judgment to assess when to escalate an issue promptly.

 

Additional Responsibilities for the Senior Position include: (If any)

Perform any ad-hoc functions relating to compliance work; and any other cognate duties that may from time to time be required, and which are appropriate for the role and business needs

 

 

Qualification, Experience and Skills

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications within the industry is preferred.

 

Experience:

  • 3-5 years of experience in a compliance role, with at least 2-3 years in a team leadership or management role.
  • Experience in developing and implementing compliance policies and procedures.
  • Experience in conducting internal audits and liaising with internal and external stakeholders on compliance matters.
  • Knowledge of compliance regulations and requirements, such as GDPR, AML, or HIPAA.
  • Experience in providing compliance training and guidance to staff.
  • Experience in managing and developing a team of compliance professionals.

 

Skills:

  • Strong leadership and management skills to manage a team of compliance professionals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to review, analyse and suggest compliance policies and procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Analytical skills to identify and resolve compliance issues.
  • Understanding of compliance policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of data privacy laws and regulations.
  • Experience in providing compliance training to colleagues.
