Junior Underwriter

We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Underwriter to join our team.

• Provide guidance and support to customers and ensure the policy chosen is in the best interest of the customers.
• Process quotations and other requests as per guideline.
• Listen to customer’s concerns, issues and questions
• Explain policy terms to clients.
• Ensure all leads are contacted and quoted within a reasonable time and proper follow-up is done.
• Maintain a positive, empathetic and professional attitude toward customers at all times.
• Communicate with potential customers through various channels.
• Assist in evaluating insurance applications and determining coverage.
• Conduct research and gather relevant information to support underwriting decisions.
• Review policy documents and ensure accuracy and compliance with underwriting guidelines. 
• Assist in preparing underwriting reports and presentations.
• Close follow up of proposals and issuance of policies.
• Provide feedback on the efficiency of customer service.
• Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices.
• Provide administrative support to the underwriting team, including data entry and file maintenance.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree holder
• Previous experience in underwriting or a related field is preferred but not required.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to multitask.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new processes and technologies.
• Knowledge of insurance principles and practices is a plus.
