Seeking an Optimization & Development Manager to drive operational excellence, optimize processes, and lead strategic projects.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for driving operational excellence for Our client, the Optimisation & Development Manager (ODM) shall identify improvement in operations, implement innovative strategies and lead projects.
Main responsibilities:
-Factory Optimisation:
- Liaise with head of departments and other managers to understand the Company’s operations (from cane to special sugars: Front End, Back End, AML1 Special Sugar Station, Muscovado Station, AML2 special sugar Station - ex refinery)
- Identify areas of improvement with a focus on reducing operational costs and improving reliability
- Assess organization structure and propose changes to boost productivity and efficiency aligned to AML strategy
- Develop and implement strategic capex/projects having meaningful ROI
- Define KPIs and targets/road map to monitor progress and drive improvements
- Mentor and develop junior team members, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
- Collaborate with internal teams to drive innovation and develop new business models that address market needs and leverage emerging technologies.
- Strategic and Project Initiative:- Analyze competitive landscape and industry dynamics to identify emerging trends, potential improvement areas, and new technologies.
- Develop and implement comprehensive business development strategies aligned with the company’s long-term goals and objectives.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with key stakeholders
- Negotiate and manage strategic partnerships to drive business growth and enhance competitive advantage
- Lead and support strategic projects and initiatives that drive business growth and operational excellence.
Additionally, the ODM shall be part of the team involved in the potential development of a new power plant to replace the existing plant.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial) or a related field.
- Minimum 10-15 years of experience in process optimisation and development within the sugar industry.
- Strong expertise in sugar milling operations, from mills to back-end process, and performance improvement
- Experience working in sugar factories internationally is a strong advantage.
- Experience in BRCGS or similar certifications would be a plus.
- Proven track record in leading operational improvement projects and driving cost efficiencies.
- Deep knowledge of sustainable sugar production practices.
- Knowledge of energy efficiency, waste management, and milling practices.
