Job Description
Our client in the manufacturing sector is seeking to recruit a proactive and detail-oriented Warehouse & Logistics Officer to support daily warehouse operations while contributing to logistics planning and strategic improvement initiatives. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring efficient stock management, supporting decision-making processes, and gradually taking on broader logistics responsibilities with potential progression.
Responsibilities:
Warehouse Operations:
- Oversees daily warehouse activities including receiving, storage, verification and dispatch of goods.
- Ensure accurate stock control and inventory management in the warehouse management system (WMS) or ERP.
- Maintain proper documentation and stock records.
- Implement and enforce warehouse procedures and safety standards.
- Perform regular stock counts and reconcile discrepancies.
- Optimize warehouse space utilization.
Logistics & Coordination:
- Assist in planning and coordinating deliveries and shipments.
- Liaise with suppliers, transport providers, and internal departments.
- Monitor delivery schedules and ensure timely dispatch.
- Support optimisation of logistics processes and cost efficiencies.
- Optimize delivery routes to minimize costs and transit times.
- Investigate delivery delays, damages, and customer complaints.
Strategic Support:
- Assist the Warehouse and Logistics Manager in improving operational workflows.
- Participate in planning, forecasting, and process enhancements.
- Analyse stock movement and logistics performance data.
- Identify opportunities for efficiency and cost reduction.
- Monitor adherence to warehouse procedures.
- Coordination and communication with procurement, finance, production, sales, and maintenance teams.
Profile:
- Diploma in Business Administration, Operations Management or related field.
- Minimum 3-5 years in warehouse operations or logistics.
- Experience in inventory control and stock management systems.
- Exposure to logistics coordination or transport management is an advantage.
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Strong MS Excel and reporting skills.
- Understanding of logistics processes and supply chain flow.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Analytical thinking with attention to detail.
- Good communication and coordination abilities.
- Ability to work both operationally and strategically.
- Leadership potential and willingness to grow.
- Demonstrates honesty and ethical behaviour.
- Adjusts quickly to changing priorities.
