Job Description
Executive leadership opportunity for an experienced CEO to drive investment performance and organisational transformation.
Position Overview
An established investment and asset management institution is seeking an accomplished Chief Executive Officer (CEO) on a 3 Years Fixed Term contract to provide strategic and operational leadership during a critical phase of its evolution.
Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the CEO will be responsible for executing the organisation's mandate, overseeing investment management and divestment activities, driving capital recovery initiatives, ensuring strong governance and risk management practices, and leading the organisation toward long-term value creation.
This role requires an experienced executive with a strong background in investment management, banking, financial services, or related sectors who can operate effectively within a highly regulated and governance-driven environment while managing complex stakeholder relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
- Lead the execution of the organisation's strategic objectives in collaboration with the Board of Directors.
- Translate strategic priorities into actionable business plans and measurable outcomes.
- Provide leadership in navigating complex investment, financial, and operational challenges.
- Serve as the primary link between the Board and executive management.
- Oversee the evaluation, monitoring, management, and exit of investment positions.
- Drive the recovery and preservation of invested capital through disciplined portfolio management.
- Ensure investment decisions align with risk management objectives and organisational mandate.
- Address legacy investment challenges and implement strategies to maximise value realization.
- Oversee divestment activities and exit execution while safeguarding asset value.
- Maintain financial management, reporting, and performance measurement frameworks.
- Ensure effective risk identification, assessment, mitigation, and monitoring across the organisation.
- Oversee the development and implementation of governance and control frameworks.
- Monitor organisational performance against strategic and financial objectives.
- Oversee day-to-day business and administrative operations.
- Drive operational excellence and process efficiency across internal and external functions.
- Implement initiatives that improve productivity, accountability, and organisational effectiveness.
- Ensure resources are allocated efficiently to support strategic objectives.
- Foster a high-performance culture focused on accountability, integrity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the executive leadership team.

- Strengthen organisational capability through talent development and succession planning.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, policies, and governance requirements.
- Maintain effective relationships with regulators, legal advisors, government stakeholders, and other key partners.
- Operate effectively within a committee-based governance structure while balancing accountability and operational independence.
- Provide transparent and timely reporting to the Board and relevant stakeholders.
- Safeguard and enhance the organisation's reputation through responsible communication and stakeholder engagement.
- Degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or an equivalent professional qualification.
- Minimum of 10 years of senior leadership experience within banking, investment management, financial services, private equity, asset management, or a related sector.
- Demonstrated success operating in complex, high-stakes financial or investment environments.
- Experience leading organisations within highly regulated and governance-intensive environments.
- Proven track record of delivering strategic and operational results.
- Experience managing investment portfolios, distressed assets, restructurings, or capital recovery initiatives.
- Exposure to both public-sector and private-sector operating environments.
- Board-level engagement experience and familiarity with committee-based governance structures.
- Experience managing complex legal, financial, and stakeholder matters.
