Job Description
Job Summary
Huawei is seeking a highly motivated and technically competent Solar PV
Solution Engineer to support the design, engineering, and technical delivery of
solar photovoltaic (PV) projects across utility-scale, commercial, and
industrial sectors. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing
optimized PV system designs of Huawei Smart PV Systems, conducting technical
assessments, preparing engineering documentation, and supporting customers
throughout the project lifecycle.
The role requires strong expertise in solar PV system engineering, electrical
design, energy yield analysis, and Huawei Smart PV solutions. The engineer will
collaborate closely with sales, project delivery, EPC partners, consultants,
and customers to deliver high-performance, cost-effective, and bankable solar
energy solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Solar PV System Design & Engineering
* Develop complete solar PV system designs for utility-scale, commercial, and
industrial projects.
* Perform DC and AC electrical system design, including:
* PV module string sizing
* Inverter sizing and selection
* Cable sizing and routing
* Combiner box configuration
* Transformer and switchgear integration
* Earthing and lightning protection systems
* Design optimized plant layouts considering terrain, shading, environmental
conditions, and customer requirements.
* Prepare Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), electrical schematics, and technical
drawings.
* Conduct energy yield assessments and performance simulations using
industry-standard software.
* Perform loss calculations, production forecasting, and system optimization
studies.
Technical Solution Development
* Develop Huawei Smart PV solutions tailored to customer requirements.
* Evaluate project feasibility and provide technical recommendations.
* Support preparation of technical proposals, bills of quantities (BOQ), and equipment
specifications.
* Ensure compliance with international standards, local grid codes, and
customer technical requirements.
* Conduct technical due diligence and risk assessments.
Customer & Sales Support
* Provide technical support during customer meetings, presentations, and
workshops.
* Respond to Requests for Information (RFI), Requests for Proposal (RFP), and
tender requirements.
* Prepare technical documentation and solution presentations for customers and
stakeholders.
* Act as the technical interface between Huawei and EPC contractors,
consultants, developers, and end-users.
Project Execution Support
* Support project implementation teams with engineering clarifications and
design optimization.
* Review EPC engineering submissions and ensure compliance with Huawei solution
requirements.
* Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT),
and commissioning support activities when required.
* Assist in troubleshooting system design and performance-related issues.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
* Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and evolving standards within
the solar PV sector.
* Contribute to the development of best practices, design guidelines, and
engineering tools.
* Support product improvement initiatives through customer feedback and field
experience.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering,
Power Engineering, or related discipline.
* Master’s Degree is an advantage.
Experience
* 3–5+ years of experience in Solar PV design engineering, renewable energy
projects, or utility-scale power systems.
* Proven experience designing grid-connected solar PV systems.
* Experience with utility-scale solar projects is highly preferred.
* Familiarity with Huawei Smart PV products and solutions is an advantage.
Technical Skills
