Job Description

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on the hotel's electrical systems and equipment.
  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair electrical faults in guest rooms, public areas, offices, kitchens, restaurants, and back-of-house facilities.
  • Maintain and repair electrical panels, circuit breakers, switches, sockets, lighting systems, and associated equipment.
  • Replace defective electrical components and ensure proper functioning of all electrical installations.
  • Monitor electrical systems and report any abnormalities or potential hazards.
  • Carry out routine inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency breakdowns.
  • Assist in the testing and maintenance of emergency lighting systems and backup power installations.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance work performed and materials used.
  • Ensure proper use and care of tools, equipment, and maintenance materials.
  • Follow all occupational health and safety procedures and hotel policies.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area at all times.
  • Support energy conservation initiatives by identifying opportunities to reduce electricity consumption.
  • Coordinate with external contractors when required and monitor work performed on electrical installations.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • National Certificate Level 3 (NC3) or National Certificate Level 4 (NC4) in Electrical Installation, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 1–2 years' proven experience as an Electrician, preferably in the hospitality, commercial, or industrial sector.
  • Sound knowledge of electrical systems, electrical troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams and technical drawings.
  • Good understanding of electrical safety standards and regulations.
  • Ability to work independently and respond effectively to maintenance emergencies.
  • Basic computer literacy is an advantage.
