Job Description

Our client, operating in Africa and starting its business in Mauritius, is looking for a tracking manager who is ready to work on a shift system, from 08h30 to 17h30 and from 14h00 to 22h30. 

 

Purpose of the role

·      To ensure all the vehicles are up to date on the tracking system. Vehicles are driven as per the set company/government guidelines and regulation.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure tracking of truck locations by GPS system on route as scheduled.
  • Evaluating truck/bus driver performance.
  • Ensuring there is compliance with company regulations by drivers.
  • Identifying on-road exceptions and taking immediate remedial action (communicating to drivers on route).
  • Coordinating and responding to emergency situations.
  • Liaising with drivers, operations personnel and management.
  • Developing and presenting daily management reports.
  • Ensure shift work.
  • Timely vehicle road user certificate renewals
  • Troubleshooting of faulty tracking units
  • Driver licenses renewals
  • Follow up by calling of drivers
  • Daily driver behavior report to operation bus/trucks.
  • Daily truck position to trucks operation manager
  • Daily Delay Reports to trucks operation manager
  • Monthly vehicle performance to business unit head

 

Profile requirements

·      Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Information Technology or related course

·      At least 2 year experience in a tracking role

·      Ability to coordinating and responding to emergency situations

·      Ability to generate reports from the system and understand them.

·      Business Understanding:

o   Understand geographical area of the routes vehicles use

o   Understand fleet management systems used by the company

o   Understand procedures of operations.

·      Excellent IT skills

·      Excellent communication and Analytical Skills

 

Functional Skills:

·      Tracking of truck/bus locations by GPS system.

·      Monitoring truck/bus driver performance.
