Role Overview
The company is seeking a high-impact Senior Manager to take ownership of the Client Accounting function at a critical stage of its evolution.
This is not a "steady-state" role. It is a hands-on leadership position focused on driving performance, improving productivity, and strengthening delivery discipline within a growing and increasingly complex client accounting environment.

The successful candidate will be expected to operate as a change agent, working closely with senior leadership to:
- Improve output and accountability across the team.
- Address workflow inefficiencies and capacity imbalances.
- Strengthen review, control and delivery standards.
Key Responsibilities
Delivery, Performance & Accountability
- Take full ownership of timely and high-quality delivery of client accounts.
- Drive adherence to strict deadlines, SLAs and quality standards.
- Establish clear performance metrics (output, turnaround times, utilization) and hold the team accountable.
- Actively manage backlogs, bottlenecks and delivery risks.
- Provide clear visibility to senior management on performance and capacity.
- Lead and develop a team of client accountants, setting clear expectations and accountability frameworks.
- Address underperformance proactively and foster a culture of ownership, discipline and professionalism.
- Strengthen the team's review capability, ensuring senior staff are focused on judgement, oversight and efficiency.
- Build a resilient team structure with clear roles, responsibilities and escalation lines.
- Redesign and optimize workflow, task allocation and prioritization.
- Improve transparency of capacity, workload and progress across the team.
- Identify and eliminate inefficiencies, duplication and non-value-adding activities.
- Introduce practical tracking tools to monitor productivity and output.
- Ensure consistent application of accounting standards and internal policies.
- Strengthen internal controls, review processes and audit readiness.
- Drive standardization and simplification of client accounting processes.
- Act as escalation point for complex accounting, judgement or delivery issues.
- Support ongoing system enhancements and drive adoption of tools and technology.
- Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency gains (including AI where relevant).
- Ensure appropriate oversight of outputs, maintaining quality and control.
- Partner closely with client-facing teams to ensure alignment on delivery priorities.
- Engage effectively with senior leadership.
- Contribute actively to broader discussions on operating model and service delivery improvement.
Essential
- Chartered accountant qualification (ACCA, ACA or equivalent).
- Strong experience in client accounting with fiduciary, trust or multi-entity environments.
- Proven track record of driving performance improvement in under-optimized teams.
- Hands-on leadership style with the ability to challenge, reset and execute.
- Strong technical accounting judgement.
- Highly organized, disciplined and results-oriented.
- Experience in turnaround, restructuring or backlog reduction environments.
- Exposure to multi-jurisdictional structures and delivery models.
- Experience improving productivity through process redesign or system implementation.
