Job Description


The selected candidate will be managing store and inventory operations, including receiving, inspecting, and verifying goods for quality and quantity accuracy. The selected candidate will maintain stock records, issue GRNs, and update inventory systems while ensuring proper storage and FIFO practices. They will also monitor stock levels, track discrepancies, follow up on deliveries, and support timely distribution of goods. In addition, the role includes maintaining hygiene and safety standards, ensuring proper use of PPE, and supporting a clean and well-organized store environment.


What you will be doing:

  • Ensure proper receipt, inspection, and verification of goods against freight documents for quality and quantity accuracy.
  • Check incoming goods to ensure they are in good condition and comply with required standards.
  • Issue Goods Received Notes (GRN) and maintain accurate records for the Purchasing Department.
  • Verify received items with laboratory users and confirm accuracy upon delivery.
  • Monitor and track returns, damages, and discrepancies in accordance with procedures.
  • Ensure proper storage and stacking of goods following FIFO principles for easy identification and issuance.
  • Ensure all goods are stored in compliance with hygiene, safety, and product storage regulations.
  • Conduct regular inventory checks and stock inspections to ensure system accuracy.
  • Retrieve and update stock data using the Inventory Control System.
  • Follow up on pending deliveries and ensure timely receipt of all orders.
  • Ensure deliveries to collection centres are completed only after approval from the Line Manager.
  • Monitor supplier price changes and report updates to supervisors and the Business Unit Manager on time.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement procedures and supply chain policies.
  • Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) by staff and visitors in the store area.
  • Coordinate the provision of PPE as requested by the Safety & Health Officer.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of store equipment such as stackers, pallet trucks, and trolleys.
  • Monitor and record storage conditions, including temperature, to ensure product safety and integrity.
What are we looking for?

  • A Higher School Certificate (HSC), preferably with science subjects.
  • A Professional Certificate in Store Management or a related field.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in a similar role within storekeeping, warehouse, or inventory management.
  • Good knowledge of hygiene standards and occupational health & safety practices.
  • Familiarity with industry best practices in inventory and store operations.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and email usage.
  • Strong numerical and statistical ability for stock and inventory management.
  • Good planning, organizational, and time management skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines effectively.
