Job Description

Central Distributors Company Ltd has been earmarked by Quality Beverages Group to manage most of its warehousing and logistics requirements.

With operations launching in March 2027, this is a greenfield role. The Senior Accountant will help build the finance function from scratch, champion the implementation of a new ERP (Microsoft Business Central), and establish all financial processes before and after go-live.


Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Month-End Close

        Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

        Prepare and review financial statements, management accounts, and variance analyses.

        Reconcile general ledger accounts, including intercompany balances with Quality Beverages Group entities.

        Process accruals, prepayments, and journal entries; ensure all entries are supported and properly documented.

Revenue & Service Billing

        Oversee the full invoicing cycle for warehousing and logistics services rendered to Group companies and external clients.

        Ensure service fee structures (storage, handling, value-added services) are accurately configured in Business Central and reconciled against Reflex operational data.

        Monitor accounts receivable, follow up on outstanding invoices, and maintain customer account reconciliations.

Cost Accounting & Asset Management

        Maintain a detailed cost structure across all warehousing operations: labour, space occupation, equipment, utilities, and third-party logistics costs.

        Analyse cost per pallet, cost per movement, and other operational KPIs to support management pricing and profitability decisions. Manage the fixed asset register, including depreciation schedules for warehouse equipment, racking, forklifts, and IT infrastructure.

        Account for lease obligations under IFRS 16 (warehouse premises and equipment leases).

Budgeting, Forecasting & Management Reporting

        Lead the annual budgeting cycle and produce rolling forecasts; present financial results and commentary to the Finance Manager and senior leadership.

        Provide meaningful financial analysis supporting decisions on capacity planning, headcount, and service pricing.

        Prepare Group reporting packs in line with consolidation requirements set by Quality Beverages Group Finance.


Compliance, Audit & Internal Controls

        Ensure full compliance with IFRS/local GAAP, VAT, PAYE, and all other statutory obligations applicable to the entity.

        Coordinate the first statutory audit and all subsequent annual audits; maintain organised, audit-ready documentation throughout the year.

        Monitor and continuously strengthen internal controls, particularly around service billing, customer stock reconciliation, and cash management.

 

Qualifications

 

        Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline (essential).

        Master degree in accounting/Finance or Professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)

        5+ years progressive accounting experience; 3PL / logistics sector preferred.

Hands-on ERP implementation experience; Microsoft Business Central / Dynamics 365 highly desirable.

        WMS familiarity; Reflex experience is an advantage.

        Solid intercompany, group reporting, and IFRS 16 knowledge.

        Experience in a service-fee-based or shared-services environment.

Proven ability to build processes from scratch in a greenfield setting.
