Job Description
We are currently seeking an Accountant to contribute to the efficient operations of Life Medical Clinic Bon Pasteur.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for the Finance & Administration department day-to-day running.
- Ensure that accounting processes are efficient and adhering to adequate internal controls.
- Review the accuracy of monthly management accounts and related schedules & annexed reports Maintain and reconcile ledgers, reports, account records, examine and correct accounting transactions and prepare/post journal entries as required.
- Preparation of monthly reconciliation schedules for bank reconciliation, AP and AR reconciliation, maintain Fixed asset register to ensure proper monitoring & control over key GL accounts.
- Closely follow up Insurance companies for medical claims and provide weekly Debtors Overdue Reports.
- Review and approve statutory returns for lodgement with the authorities as per set deadline.
- Participate in the perpetual and annual stock count at the different operating unit at the clinic
- Participate actively in the year-end annual audit and tax exercise and any internal audits as and when required.
- Assist the Head of Finance in the monthly cashflow forecast and the yearly budget exercise and any forecasts or revisions to the budget.
- Assist the Head of Finance as required in certain duties such as dealings with banks, auditors & tax advisers, and preparation of reports & analysis for the Board of Directors.
- Participate actively in new projects pertaining to the optimization of the department process flows.
- Provide guidance and training to the accounting and invoicing team.
- Assist in implementation of the new ERP accounting software.
- Any cognate duties.
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in Accounting or at least Level 2 ACCA completed.
- At least 5 years of experience in a similar position, in an operational environment.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficient in MS Office in general.
- Quick learner and good team player.
- Having a methodical approach and business acumen.
