Sales Representative – Freight Forwarding & Logistics

Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Sales Representative to promote and sell our freight forwarding and logistics services. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing new business opportunities, maintaining strong client relationships, and increasing shipment volumes across sea freight, air freight, customs clearance, warehousing, and transportation services.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Sales

  • Identify and secure new customers requiring freight forwarding, logistics, customs clearance, warehousing, and transportation services.
  • Conduct telesales activities, cold calling, market research, and client visits to generate new business opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain a strong sales pipeline to achieve monthly and annual sales targets.
  • Promote the company's sea freight, air freight, LCL, FCL, customs clearance, warehousing, and transport solutions.
  • Prepare and submit quotations in accordance with company pricing policies.
  • Negotiate rates and service agreements with prospective clients.

Client Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential customers.
  • Conduct regular customer visits to understand business requirements and identify opportunities for additional services.
  • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction through professional communication and follow-up.
  • Resolve customer concerns and coordinate with internal departments to ensure smooth service delivery.

Shipment & Operational Coordination

  • Obtain shipment details from customers and coordinate with overseas agents and operations teams.
  • Secure shipments and obtain booking confirmations from agents and shipping lines.
  • Send loading confirmations, vessel schedules, and shipment updates to clients.
  • Coordinate closely with Customer Service and Operations Departments to ensure seamless execution of shipments.
  • Follow up on shipment status and provide timely updates to customers.

Market Intelligence & Reporting

  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and freight rate fluctuations.
  • Gather and report market information to management.
  • Prepare weekly sales reports, client visit reports, and sales forecasts.
  • Maintain accurate customer records, quotations, and sales activities.

Documentation & File Management

  • Ensure all quotations, correspondence, and customer records are properly maintained.
  • Handover complete sales files and customer requirements to the Customer Service Department after shipment confirmation.
  • Maintain updated records of secured business and customer agreements.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience in freight forwarding, logistics, shipping, or related sales roles preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of sea freight, air freight, customs clearance, and logistics operations.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and achieve sales targets.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Valid driving licence and willingness to conduct client visits.
